Veľký and Malý Richňavský tajch
RIver basin: HronVeľká Richňava (the bigger reservoir after the division) – its construction started in 1738-1740 according to a plan by Samuel Mikovini. It was created by a division of giant Richňava water reservoir (translator´s note: the original and not divided water reservoir was called tajch Richňava which was later divided to create two reservoirs recently called Richňavské water reservoirs) by a cross dyke due to its leaking and the possibility of it collapsing. It keeps 950.000 m³ of water and is the highest and deepest water reservoir in the Štiavnické Hills. It is used for recreation purposes.
Malá Richňava (the smaller reservoir after the division) – its construction started in 1738-1740 according to a plan by Samuel Mikovini. It was made by division of one Richňavské water reservoirs unit (translator´s note: originally called Richňava) by a cross dyke in 1746 due to its leaking. The reservoir does not keep any water so only a third of its capacity is filled. It is used for bathing.
